BBQ Herbs - Basil — Grilling With Basil
Of the bbq herbs, basil lends itself well to seafoods and poultry dishes. The licorice aroma and pungent flavor of basil add interesting notes to chicken, various fishes and barbecue sauces.

Romantic Dinner Menu…. How does this sound?
Cooking dinner for my boyfriend tonight…
Fried raviolli with arrabbiata sauce (tomato sauce w/ red pepper flakes, and a little garlic and basil… )
Grilled Linguica, stuffed with cheese
Roasted veggies (asparagus, peppers, sliced potatoes, onions) drizzled with olive oil, and sprinkled with italian herbs (oregano, basil, etc) and crumbled pancetta
OR should i make
grilled california pizzas (you make mini pizza crusts with dough, grill them, drizzle with olive oil and pile on LOTS of toppings and finish grilling)
blue cheese vinagerette salad
parmesan crusted chicken strips
which sounds better, and any tips??

neither of those sound romantic to me. Romantic to me means lobster tail, T-bone steak, shrimp, etc. with wine (or other favorite alcoholic beverage…not beer) and lit candles and mood music.

I prefer the second for a summer meal. Linguica stuffed with cheese sounds heavy and so does fried ravioli.

Hmmm…I think if you are going for romance you should go for the first one. Pizza is not very romantic.

I go for: <*-*>
☻Appetizer: Bruschette (toasted bread covered with fresh tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and oregano)
☻First course: Fried raviolli with arrabbiata sauce
☻Second course: parmesan crusted chicken strips
☻Side dish: Melanzane alla Parmigiana (Eggplant Parmesan)
☻Don’t forget the dessert and drinks.
Buon Appetito! <*-*>

It sounds like I’d like to be there
I think the first one would be awesome! Italian and french = romance. It depends on what the guy likes though
good luck

The first menu sounds more for a nice romantic dinner for two. Nice sunny or clear night.
The second sounds like for a rainy date with a blockbuster dinner after.

I would have to say neither!!!!
the first choice sounds very heavy…not really romantic eating a sausage…
same with the second pizza isn’t romantic, when I think of pizza I think of kids and the crusted chicken I think of kids finger food,
here’s was I would serve..
Cream of Artichoke Soup
Steamed Mussels with Fresh Herbs
Swordfish Steak with Spinach and Citrus Vinaigrette
Chocolate Espresso Cake

Anything you can feed each other can be very romantic. Go for the mini pizzas.
Stay away from anything dark green that can get stuck in your teeth and look unattractive.
Garnishing with rose petals on the plates is very romantic. (It worked on me when my fiancee did it!)

I think it depends on the person you are making the meal for. Sometimes the key to making something romantic is making something your partner would enjoy.
When all else fails, don’t underestimate the power of a dessert only meal.

oh they both sound amazing!! you should come cook for me!! haha! I think no matter what your main dish is the salad should be in there so that it can calm your mouth of all the basil and such, it will actually help with your breath too…and on a romantic dinner with your boyfriend; that matters. lol
Have fun! Enjoy!
